Throttle Back!

In 2013, the Citation M2 rolled off the assembly line and replaced the Citation Mustang as Cessna’s current production entry-level jet. The M2 is the fourth-generation product of a demanding Citation 525 platform that features enhanced cabin ergonomics with a modernized Garmin G3000 avionics suite in the cockpit. The M2 market was in full stride for aircraft transactions during the first quarter. Since then, the market has seen a slight throttle back in buying activity with an average of 2 to 3 transactions per month from April through today. What has not yet been impacted is the average asking price. In fact, the average asking price is up by $249,000 over the same period and is largely due to late model entrants looking to capture buyers who cannot wait out the manufacturer’s backlog.
