Quarterly Market Report Learjet Aircraft – Q2 2020

Freedom & Success with Learjet!

The Learjet has a long history of coming to the aid of those needing to save time, protect privacy, and enhance safety. In today’s environment, these concepts hold true more than ever. With the summer travel season in full swing, people are looking at travel in a whole new light. The Learjet has taken on an additional roll as another tool being utilized in our social distancing world. If you are looking to avoid the crowds this summer then the Learjet is the perfect instrument. The pre-owned markets are primed and ready for buyers who appreciate the amazing amount of freedom the Learjet provides.

Over the last quarter, we have seen the inventory levels start to tick up, which has put downward pressure on prices. Currently, over 12.5% of the mainline Learjet fleet are for sale, which is consistent with other aircraft in the mid-sized jet category. These inventory levels, although not great, are also not insurmountable if you happen to be a seller in this market. The buyer pool remains consistent, albeit hesitant, given the current economic situation. If the economy can find some sort of footing and have minimal setbacks in Q3 and Q4, we can look for these buyers to emerge from the sidelines and become active participants again. We remain optimistic that by Q4 we will start to see a reversal in inventory levels and market stabilization.

As we enter the last half of 2020, look for buyers seeking to minimize their tax burden and maximize their freedom to step forward just as they have in years past. In 2018 and 2019, these buyers were well-educated on the markets and quickly snatched up the best values the market had to offer. Competition in the Learjet markets for 2020 is much more fierce than years before but hesitant buyers are ready to pull the trigger. Future buyers and sellers should have little wavering in today’s marketplace as we enter the 2nd half of 2020. Omni Aircraft Sales continues to monitor the Learjet markets closely. The sky’s the limit for the remainder of the year and the Learjet is your tool for success.
